About this project
Between 2019 and 2021 we carried out a phased garden lighting installation in Horsham, West Sussex. The medium sized residential scheme was built up in stages over those years.
The lighting covers the patio, steps, walls and planting, and the garden can be used in the evening as well as seen from the house.
The lighting
- A twilight patio seating area with lanterns, a fence washed in warm light and uplit hedge trees beside a lit water feature.
- Garden steps between brick piers, lit by step lights, with uplit shrubs, ferns and potted plants.
- Mature garden trees uplit against a deep blue evening sky, next to a glass balustrade and a brick wall.
- A tiered stone fountain glowing with underwater light, next to an uplit acer and a garden fence.
- A curved brick wall with a recessed wall light, and illuminated stone steps.
- A warm lit brick retaining wall and uplit trees, with the windows of the house glowing beyond.
Fittings and controls
The scheme uses low voltage Hunza Lighting, LuxR and Light Visuals fittings, and Light Symphony controls the lighting. Hunza is a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings.
