About this project
This is a medium sized residential lighting design in Hampstead, in the London Borough of Camden, dating from 2019. The garden lighting is set around a white house, its gates and its garden paths.
Much of the scheme is about the approach: the drive, the gate piers and the paths that lead to the front door.
The lighting
- An arched opening in a white garden wall outlined in warm edge lighting, with uplit shrubs by the courtyard.
- A wrought iron gate between lit stone gate piers, with a ground light on the drive.
- A lit stone path leading towards the house, with an uplit red acer and hydrangeas.
- Small wall lights over a timber fence, above a gravel path and steps.
- Bronze path lights lining a path of hydrangeas, and a stone pillar with a ball finial and a path light.
- An uplit tree fern and foliage beside a gravel path, and a metal flower sculpture with a ground light.
Fittings and controls
We used low voltage Hunza Lighting and LuxR fittings, with Light Symphony controlling the lighting. Hunza is a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings.
