About this project
Garden lighting in Romsey, Hampshire: a medium sized residential lighting scheme completed in 2022, surrounding a brick Victorian house and its gardens.
We designed the lighting to work from the front entrance through to the borders, steps and courtyard, so that the paths and planting can be seen and used at night.
The lighting
- The brick entrance with a lantern, wall lights and lit brick steps, flanked by path lights.
- Brick piers by the garage uplit, with a warm line of light along the base above cobbled paving.
- A row of lantern style bollard lights along a stone patio, with a hedge and trees behind.
- Young trees and multi stem trees uplit above planted borders and ornamental grasses, with maple trunks and canopies lit beside a gravel path.
- Lit brick steps, a curving gravel path and a raised planter, with step lights and wall lights beyond an open wrought iron gate.
- A brick outbuilding with an up and down wall light, a lit steel planter and a slate paved courtyard.
Fittings and controls
The scheme uses low voltage Hunza Lighting, LuxR and Jean-Philippe Weimer fittings, and Lutron controls the lighting. Hunza is a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings.
