About this project
Turville Heath, in Oxfordshire, is the setting for this medium to large garden lighting design, completed in 2021. Sue Townsend Garden Design was responsible for the garden, and we lit it with a focus on mature trees, clipped hedging and the terraces used for dining and lounging.
The garden is lit to be viewed across the lawn and from the stone terrace.
The lighting
- Mature trees, including a multi stem tree, are uplit from the ground so that trunks and branches stand out against the night sky.
- A stone terrace with a wooden dining set sits beneath one large lit tree beside a timber clad house.
- A lounge area with a corner sofa and a glowing red parasol is set on a stone patio.
- A clipped hedge arch is lit from below and frames a leaf shaped sculpture that glows at the far side.
- A path leads on to a brick garden building with a lantern.
- Pink flowers in the borders sit beneath the uplit tree canopy.
Fittings and controls
The scheme uses low voltage Hunza Lighting and LuxR fittings. Hunza is a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings. Light Symphony controls the lighting.
