About this project
This 2022 garden lighting scheme in the London Borough of Ealing is a small residential project. The garden has a long lawn running down to a summerhouse, with a red brick house at the top.
By the evening the house and garden read as one space, with warm light from the windows and bifold doors carrying out onto the lawn.
The lighting
- Uplighting on the brick boundary wall and shrubs lines a gravel path.
- Uplit climbing roses and a spike light in the border sit beside a shuttered window at the front.
- An olive tree is uplit beside the bifold doors, near the patio dining area.
- The summerhouse is lit with warm wall washers and uplit flower borders.
- A birch tree and a rose wall are lit at the front of the house.
- Trees and a trellis fence are lit across the lawn at dusk, leaving the garden visible from the house after dark.
- Open folding doors and the lit kitchen diner can be seen across the lawn from the garden at dusk.
Fittings and controls
This scheme uses low voltage Hunza Lighting, a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings, with LuxR. Light Symphony controls the scheme.
