About this project

Our lighting design for a large garden in Denham, Buckinghamshire, was delivered as a phased installation between 2017 and 2024. The garden was designed by The Garden Design Co Ltd, and our garden lighting follows its terraces, canal, planters, specimen trees and drive.

Working over this period let the lighting develop area by area.

The lighting
  • Raised brick walls and planters carry warm LED lighting, beside a resin bound path and lavender.
  • Lanterns and floor lanterns light the terrace, where teak armchairs and a seating area sit at dusk.
  • A garden canal has step lights, path lights and a footbridge, with an illuminated timbered house beyond.
  • An ancient yew has hanging lanterns, and a magnolia, a multi stem cherry and a row of mature horse chestnuts along the drive are uplit.
  • A recessed wall light marks stone steps, and the summerhouse windows glow across the lawn.
Fittings and controls

The scheme uses low voltage Hunza Lighting, a New Zealand brand known for long lasting, maintainable fittings, with LuxR and Jean-Philippe Weimer. Light Symphony controls it.
