We presented our lighting design for a tucked away front garden in Harrogate, Yorkshire, in June 2026, and revised it in August. We are installing it in November.

The client wanted a warm welcome to the property and a cosy outdoor decking area, built as part of an extension to the kitchen. The lighting is designed to be soft and subtle while enhancing the space.

The scheme uses Hunza Pure LED pole spots, wall down lights, pillar lights and euro eyelid step lights, with LuxR Halo lights and festoon lighting over the decking.

The lights are split into three zones. The house facade, and the planting and decking, are each set to 50% from dusk until switch off, and rise to 100% when someone drives into the property. The third zone is the step lights and the planter spike lights for the sunken terrace.

The lights will be switched with Light Symphony remote controls, using a timer and an app on a smartphone.
